A few doors south of the Yonge and Bloor corner, one of the busiest intersections in the country, our Yonge Street location serves halal fried onion burgers to a neighbourhood that never really slows down.

This stretch of Yonge is downtown Toronto at full speed: shoppers working their way down from Bloor's boutiques and the big flagship stores, students and office workers cutting through between meetings, and a steady stream of people pouring out of Bloor and Yonge station at all hours. It's exactly the kind of crowd an Oklahoma onion burger was invented for, people who want something fast, inexpensive and genuinely delicious, cooked fresh in front of them rather than sitting under a heat lamp.

The menu at 762A Yonge is our downtown Toronto lineup: two burgers, done perfectly. The Oklahoma stacks 4oz beef patties with American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and burger sauce; the BM Burger swaps in our bone marrow "BM" sauce for something richer. Round it out with fries, dirty fries, panko crisp onion rings and a cold can. Every burger starts with halal brisket ground in house daily, smashed thin on the griddle with a heap of thinly sliced onions that caramelize into the beef. This is the technique Oklahoma cooks perfected during the Great Depression, and the reason the burger tastes the way it does.

Finding us is simple: we're steps from Bloor and Yonge station on the subway, and the Yonge bus and Bloor bike lanes run right past the door.
